South Evian Gulf team was born in 2010 at Evia, Greece emerging from our deep love for sea and sea kayaking. Over the course of 13 years, following 13 significant expeditions that left their mark on the map of Greek sea kayaking history, as well as dozens of smaller trips, circumnavigations and crossings, South Evian Gulf team has earned the respect of thousands of people and at the same time consolidated its position as the leading Greek sea kayaking club.

Sea kayaking in Cyprus
We love sea kayaking, and we want to give you the opportunity to get to know it and to love it as well. We operate from April to December, with small groups of up to 4 people, offering courses, based on the American Canoe Association’s course curriculum, as well as day tours to the most beautiful spots of the Cyprus’ coastline.
Our tours in Cyprus are designed to offer you an unforgettable experience that will leave you with lasting memories of the beautiful scenery and crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Each tour includes a course in basic techniques to familiarize you with the use of a kayak. Yeronisos, Paphos
Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the most fascinating coastline of Paphos with our Yeronisos full day tour and indulge in an adventure that will stay with you forever. This tour is perfect for those in good shape, looking for an exciting and educational experience. Starting from the stunning Coral Bay beach, this tour covers approximately 10 nautical miles and approximately 5 hours of paddling, including a visit to the impressive wreck of a big commercial ship, an ancient harbor, and the small islet of Yeronisos, which has historical significance as an ancient sanctuary.

Instructor
Dr Aggelos Christophides
The founder of South Evian Gulf team. Born in Athens, Greece in 1980, Aggelos’ journey was marked by an early immersion in the world of competitive swimming, propelling him into the arena of the Greek National Championship. His youthful ardor also extended to water-skiing, further diversifying his aquatic expertise.
After the establishment of South Evian Gulf team in 2010, he led several sea kayaking expeditions in Greek and international waters. His most notable expeditions were the Greece 1000 Miles, the 46-days crossing of Greece from the westernmost to the easternmost point in 2014, the Non-Stop 100 ultra-marathon, 100 nautical miles of non-stop paddling in the North and South Evian Gulf in 2018, and the Mare Adriatico, the solo crossing of the Adriatic Sea from Greece to Italy in 2020.
Aggelos is a certified Coastal Kayaking L3 Instructor of the American Canoe Association and a certified CSP L2 Expert Coach of the International Canoe Federation. Additionally, he holds a First Aid certification from the Greek Red Cross and a powerboat operator license.
For Aggelos, sea kayaking is more than just a sport. It’s a perfectly ecological way to connect with oneself and nature, feeling around the stress-inducing vastness of the sea and the charm of the shoreline. As a professional instructor, he follows an approach that balances simplicity, attention to detail, progressive learning and above all, entertainment, always ensuring the comfort and safety of his students.
Finally, Aggelos holds a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Ioannina, and he is a Postdoctoral researcher at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
